Mikayla Holmgren, a student in Bethel University’s Inclusive Learning and Development program, was brave enough to take part in annual contest despite her decease.

This fact proves that no matter what abnormalities you have, it only matters what kind of person you are and what talents you have.

The whole world is now inspired by her story of life. HHer dancing and performing changed people’s thoughts about Down syndrome.

“I want to show my personality. I want to show what my life looks like, being happy, and joyful. I want to show what Down syndrome looks like,” Holmgren told People.

Although Mikayla Holmgren didn’t win the contest, she received two awards: the spirit award and the director’s award.

Spirit, indeed! It’s stated that some of the women took their daughters, who also have Down syndrome, to the final contest to watch Mikayla Holmgren dancing on the event.
