The 2018 Games has many interesting updates and events.

Nexter.org reports about the funniest and most fascinating highlights from PyeongChang Winter Olympics 2018.

Aksel Lund Svindal

Aksel Svindal from Norway makes history as oldest skier to win Olympic gold.

Svindal has been one of the dominant speed skiers of his generation with multiple world titles and World Cup crowns as well as Olympic super-G gold, downhill silver and giant slalom bronze in Vancouver in 2010.

Don’t get married – it will destroy your career?

One crazy incident happened with NBC broadcaster when he was speaking of Austrian skier and 2014 gold medallist Anna Veith on Wednesday.

Miller discussed her changed performance (she finished 15th), saying it was “challenging to race … with a family or being married.”

He also mentioned her injury from 2016 but seems that it wasn’t so important as her husband and family life.

“The knee is certainly an issue,” he said. “I want to point out she also got married. And it’s historically very challenging to race on the World Cup with a family or being married. Not to blame the spouses, but I just want to toss it out there that it may be her husband’s fault.”

According to NBC, Miller apologized on air immediately afterward, saying it was an “ill-advised attempt at a joke.”

“I do apologize,” he said on air. “I was an athlete that competed after marriage, and I know how beneficial it is. I know the support team you need. On Valentine’s Day, I did not mean to throw spouses under the bus, and I’m going to be hearing it from my wife, I know.”

Olympians and stuffed tigers

Seems that flowers are out of fashion and stuffed animals are the new trend.

Before Olympic athletes get their medals, the top three finishers in each event are first given small stuffed tigers of the Olympic mascot named Soohorang. The tigers wear a gold, silver or bronze hat, and a paper flower known as an uhsahwa.

The stuffed animals replace the floral bouquets this year that have traditionally been given to medal winners.

The white tiger is considered Korea’s guardian animal, and “Sooho” means protection in Korean, while “rang” means tiger, according to the official Olympic site.

The winners receive their actual medals at a second ceremony each night in the Medals Plaza in Pyeongchang.

Fake Kim Jong-un

‘The most feared weapon of any dictatorship is satire’ these words were the reason Howard, the Australian man of Chinese descent pretended to be a North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un.

He attended the women’s ice hockey match between a unified Korean team and Japan on Wednesday.

During the match, he walked over to the group of North Koreans waving a unified Korea flag — only to be pushed aside by a group of apparent DPRK minders.

“They were kicking me in the shins, these tough guys, and shouting something in Korean really angrily,” he told the radio station.

It’s not the first time Howard has made an appearance at the Winter Olympics. Here he was with a Donald Trump impersonator, Dennis Alan, at the opening ceremony.

Valentine’s Day outfit

Despite it’s a serious competition there’s always a time for love.

The Norwegian curlers sported these showstoppers during the men’s curling event at the Winter Olympics on Wednesday: bright red and pink trousers, complete with layers of hearts for Valentine’s Day.

And people quickly fell in love with these heartthrobs.
