The Sunshine State has more than 8,000 miles of shoreline, but while the breathtaking beaches are sure to bring you relaxation and family fun, that’s not all there is to see in Florida. The state is rich in nightlife, delicious cuisine, family activities, and natural wonders. Great Beaches
With over 8,0000 miles of shoreline and over 1,700 islands off of Florida, you’ll be sure to find a beach to suit your liking. Key West, an island city and the southernmost point of the continental U.S., has some of Florida’s most beautiful beaches. It was even a famous hangout of Ernest Hemingway! While most of the beaches here are made of coral or pebbles, Smather’s Public Beach does have a sandy shoreline. Clearwater beach is one of the most pristine white sand beaches in the country, with aqua blue waters and palm trees lining the shore. It also holds a daily sunset festival. Its proximity to Tampa also provides a number of activities. Palm Beach offers extravagance and opulence with the finest hotels. This was the vacation spot of the Kennedys, Rockefellers, and Vanderbilts. Besides the relaxation of the beach, there’s always parasailing, water skiing, and dolphin watching.

Night Life
The nightlife in Florida is rich with music and history. For example, the most historic district of Florida is Tampa’s Ybor City with a comedy club, movie theater, and music venues and dance clubs such as the Ritz, which hosts the best friday night dance party in the country. Key West has a great bar scene, as well. That includes the Green Room, a bar for the environmentally conscious, which offers delicious organic fruit cocktails and a sustainable business practice. The Rum bar also has a unique laid-back atmosphere with a front porch overlooking the ocean.

“The Core” in downtown Jacksonville offers party-goers everything in one place – from bars, to nightclubs, to mechanical bull riding. Miami Beach, known as the American Riviera, is the cultural hub of South Florida, and many celebrities hang out in their clubs and hotels.

Delicious Food
Florida famously serves seafood, but there’s so much more to enjoy besides that. While they are famous for stone crab, apalachicola oysters, and conch fritters, don’t forget the cuban sandwich and key lime pie! It’s almost tropical climate makes it perfect for growing fruit as well. How can you go to Florida without sampling fresh orange juice, kumquats, or a strawberry shortcake? Last but not least, for the adventurous, you’ve gotta try the gator tail! It tastes just like chicken, they say.

Family Activities
Florida is a hub of family fun, with amusement parks and many other forms of excitement. First and foremost, Florida is home to the famous Walt Disney World, where your children can see all their favorite characters and ride rides to their heart’s content. Universal Studios is another great amusement park where your kids can see how their favorite movies are made. There’s also the Kennedy Space Center, Legoland, the National Aviation Museum, Busch Gardens, and Daytona International Speedway. While at the Speedway, you’ll want to take the kids over to Daytona Lagoon, for water rides, go-karting, and laser tag. You may love this area so much, you’ll be looking at Daytona Beach real estate before the trip is over!

Florida is one of the most beautiful states as far as natural wonders and state parks. Besides the beautiful beaches, you’ve got to check out the Florida Everglades and see the alligators. Paynes Prairie Reserve is also a great place to see alligators, as well as wild bison, horses, and over 270 species of birds. The Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary is another must-see, which allows you to get up close to marine wildlife by snorkeling and diving.
