What’s up, Elon Musk: Record Semi Truck Order, Phone Number and Love Confession for Twitter
One of the most world-famous businessmen, investor, engineer, and inventor is in focus of Nexter’s weekly view.
Here what Elon Musk was doing during the week Dec. 16-22:
-
Posted his phone number on Twitter
Who of us have never confused filled-in fields while texting with several people at the same time? Well, Musk is not an exception. On Tuesday, Elon was trying to get in touch with John Carmack, the chief technology officer at Oculus, Facebook’s VR project. But instead of sending a private message, Musk tweeted directly at Carmack his personal phone number, so his 16.7 million followers could see it. Of course it was deleted quickly.

Got UPS ordered 125 Tesla Semi trucks
It became known on Tuesday that United Parcel Service Inc is buying 125 Tesla all-electric semi-trucks. This is the largest known order for the big rig so far, as the package delivery company expands its fleet of alternative-fuel vehicles. Previously, it was reported that Pepsi bought 100 Tesla trucks, that is not the largest order anymore.

Elon Musk confessed his love to Twitter
Eight letters, three words, one meaning – I love you… Twitter.
I love Twitter

Why he did it, we actually don’t know. Maybe it was a sarcasm nobody recognised. Any way, Twitter users reacted quickly and even offered Musk to buy Twitter then.
How much is it?

Criticized public transportation
On December 14, Wired reported that Musk criticized public transportation at a tech conference.
“I think public transport is painful,” he reportedly said. “It sucks. Why do you want to get on something with a lot of other people, that doesn’t leave where you want it to leave, doesn’t start where you want it to start, doesn’t end where you want it to end? And it doesn’t go all the time.”
Public transit consultant Jarrett Walker tweeted a response on December 14, saying Elon Musk’s “hatred of sharing space with strangers is a luxury (or pathology) that only the rich can afford.”
“You’re an idiot,” Musk replied.
You’re an idiot

Nobel Prize-winning economist Paul Krugman revived the argument on Tuesday, chiding Musk for dismissing Walker.
“Elon Musk’s idea of a cogent argument: ‘You’re an idiot,”’ Krugman said on Twitter .
Musk clarified his comments about Walker on Thursday.
