A new America’s women billionaire?

“At 21, she’s set to be the youngest-ever self-made billionaire. Welcome to the era of extreme fame leverage,” reads magazine’s cover. So far we know, Kylie Jenner launched her own cosmetic empire called Kylie Cosmetics in 2016, and has since sold more than $630 million worth of makeup, according to Forbes.

However, the term “self-made” didn’t sit well with Twitter users. Jenner is the youngest daughter of the reality TV family in “Keeping up with the Kardashians.”

You can’t argue with dictionary, right?

The Dictionary.com got involved to teach Forbes how to use words in its articles. According to the website, the term “self-made” means having succeeded in life unaided. The Dictionary.com jokingly supported their explanation with a fresh new title from the magazine “Used in a sentence: Forbes says that Kylie Jenner is a self-made woman.”

Oxford Dictionary says that “self-made” means “having become rich and successful through your own hard work rather than having had money given to you.” You can use it in a sentence the following way: He was proud of the fact that he was a self-made man.

Reaction

People received this title negatively, leaving the bunch of controversial comments and jokes about new top self-made women – Kylie Jenner. “Calling Kylie Jenner “self-made” is like calling McDonald’s “homemade” stop this madness,” a Twitter user said.

One Twitter user said “calling Kylie Jenner a ‘self-made billionaire’ is like claiming you made soup from scratch because you opened a can and reheated it.”

Others compared it to Donald Trump fails with “loans”:
