Seems that someone never learns from her mistakes and yes, today e talk about Kendall Jenner.

After another scandal over her Vogue cover (and it actually not the first time), Nexter.org gathered Kendall’s promotional scandal and fails that were discussed a lot but were left behind but a lesson was never learned. Alas.

“Afro” photoshoot

The latest controversy concerns a Vogue shoot that Kendall participated in to honour the 15th anniversary of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund.

One of the images, posted to Vogue’s Instagram account, showed Kendall wearing what some perceived as an afro wig. And it didn’t take long before people in the comments began accusing Kendall and Vogue of promoting cultural appropriation.

In a statement to E! News, Vogue explained its inspiration for Jenner’s hair came from looking at the past.

“The image is meant to be an update of the romantic Edwardian/Gibson Girl hair which suits the period feel of the Brock Collection, and also the big hair of the ’60s and the early ’70s, that puffed-out, teased-out look of those eras,” the statement reportedly read. “We apologize if it came across differently than intended, and we certainly did not mean to offend anyone by it.”

The Pepsi ad

Kendall was accused of undermining the Black Lives Matter movement after handing a can of the soft drink to a police officer during a protest in Pepsi ad.

In the Pepsi advert, Kendall Jenner leaves a photoshoot to join protesters calling for love and peace, before handing a can to police as a peace offering. The officer smiles and the crowd cheers.

It was criticized for painting a “privileged, white” model as a peacemaker between civil rights activists and police.

Speaking in an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, the model says she’d “never purposely hurt someone”.

“I just feel really, really bad,” Kendall tells Kim Kardashian.

Cover of the special 10th-anniversary edition of Vogue India

A lot of readers were really unimpressed with the fact that Kendall Jenner made it to the cover of Vogue India on their 10th anniversary, instead of you know, an actual Indian model.

During Vogue India’s entire existence, they’ve had twelve international covers, including Kendall Jenner’s cover. Lots of women of colour felt that the inclusion of Kendall on a special anniversary cover was a slap in the face for an Indian audience.

Criticized for cornrows trendy by Marie Claire

Marie Claire tweeted a picture of Kendall Jenner wearing her hair partially cornrowed and praising the style as being “bold” and “epic.”

Cornrows have been around for ages and are credited most to the black community, which explains the intense outrage and hilarious hashtag (#EpicBraidLevels) that went immediately following Marie Claire’s tweet.

Soon Marie Claire tweeted an apology two hours later, but the damage has already been done.

When Vogue Spain asked Kendall to be on their cover in 2016, they also asked her to do a video shoot where she pretended to be a ballerina. This did not go over well with real ballerinas, who didn’t appreciate the implication that anyone can do something that requires hours and hours of training and practice.

Kendall’s Fyre Festival promotion

A luxury festival in the Bahamas has descended into chaos as party-goers have been left without food or water and severe flight delays home.

Kendall was initially involved with promoting the event via Instagram but deleted the posts after the whole thing turned out to be a bust.

Kendall and Kylie’s biggie shirts

In 2017 Kylie and Kendall decided it would be a good idea to release a Kendall + Kylie t-shirt line featuring their faces superimposed over photos of deceased rappers Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G.

No one liked this, least of all Biggie’s mother Voletta Wallace, who said no one from the estate had been contacted. The sisters apologized, and in 2018, a lawsuit about the use of the Tupac photo was dropped.
