Veterans Day 2017 – Facts To Know And Places To Go


On November 11 the United States celebrates Veterans Day to honor those who have served in the Armed Forces as well as those who have fallen defending the country.

Here are what we know about the American labor force:

According to the Census Bureau federal agency, there are 18.5 million veterans in the US(2016). Of these, 1.6 million veterans are women.


9.2 million, are aged 65 and older, while 1.6 million are younger than 35.

The American labor force has 7.2 million veterans ages 18 to 65,

6.8 million of them are employed.



Places to go

This year you may celebrate Veterans Day on Saturday, November 11:

in New York City – visit America’s Parade that starts at 11:15 a.m.
in Virginia visit the National Veterans Day Ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery at 11 a.m.
In California you may attend Ronald Reagan Presidential Library’s Annual Veterans Day Commemoration in Simi Valley at 10 a.m.
