Uber knows about your rides, now it’s about to know your purchases

At the Money2020 conference in Las Vegas Uber announced his launch of new credit card. The product was released in cooperation with Barclays and Visa.

1. How to get it

Americans can get Uber’s credit card starting from November 2. To order it you need to fill online application in the taxi application itself. The card will be available for using in Uber trips and UberEats, and be delivered to owner within a few days.

For now Uber already have access to the information about everyday movings of at least 10 million people that use the company’s service. With this card Uber will get even more customer information and expand its role in online and offline commerce. However, Uber reported they won’t share private information about daily purchases through the new card.

2. What about the perks?

The new credit card has many perks such as bonus of $100 after spending $500 on purchases within the first 90 days.

Uber’s card also has cashback function. So you’ll get 4 percent back on restaurants, take-out and bar purchases; 3 percent back on airfare, hotels and Airbnb or other short-stay rentals; 2 percent back on online purchases; and 1 percent back on everything else. In addition, you may take a $50 credit for online subscriptions but only after spending $5,000 per-year.

Evidently, Uber didn’t forget about the app’s integration and we in Nexter must agree that it looks convenient and stylish.

So, now it’s up to you trust Uber your purchases data or not, taking into account its previous issues with privacy.
