Tony Award, The Antoinette Perry Award for Excellence in Broadway Theatre, took place on June 10, 2018, at Radio City Hall in New York City. The awards are given for Broadway productions and performances.

Andrew Garfield speech

Andrew Garfield accepted the award for his work in “Angels in America” and gave a speech about the Supreme Court decision relating to a baker who refused to make a cake for a same-sex couple wedding.

“We are all sacred and we all belong,” Garfield said. “So, let’s just bake a cake for everyone who wants a cake to be baked.”

Robert DeNiro speech

Actor Robert DeNiro introduced Springsteen’s performance and had a moment to curse twice saying, “f**k Trump.” He received a standing ovation.

“First, I wanna say, ‘f**k Trump.’ It’s no longer ‘Down with Trump,’ it’s ‘f**k Trump.'”
