Election scandals

Some of the Simpsons episodes (“Sideshow Bob Roberts,” “Deep Throat”) show the way the elections and parties are organized. For example, the character Mayor Quimby is similar to Rush Limbaugh that used votes of people who are already dead, strange performances on televised debates, Tim Robbins references and more.

Also, Bart’s enemy – Sideshow Bob – a Republican candidate that used dirty tricks to steal the election.

@Alessandro_King compared every member of ’s orbit to Simpsons character (Springfield GOP):

You can see the thread here.

Immigration issues

’s biggest policy was related to immigration issues, involving separating children from their parents. The shameful incident happened with former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski as he mocked a 10-year-old girl with Down syndrome who was reportedly separated from her mother after crossing the border illegally.

While appearing Tuesday on Fox News, former senior Democratic National Committee adviser Zac Petkanas shared an anecdote he had read about “a 10-year-old girl with Down syndrome” who had been “taken from her mother and put in a cage.”

“Womp womp,” the former campaign manager responded. As it turned out later, the girl was being held in a detention facility in McAllen, Texas despite father is a legal US resident, Mexico’s Foreign Affairs Minister Luis Videgaray said at a press conference Tuesday.

The same happened in one of Simpsons’ episodes – “Much Apu About Nothing.” Mayor Quimby was blaming high taxes on “illegal immigrants.”

Dirty tapes and sexual affairs

“Homer’s Night Out” says it all! Bart takes a photo of Homer dancing with a stripper and that resembles all the recent -related scandals.

And these are countless: ex-Playboy Playmate Karen McDougal, who alleges she had an intimate relationship with President over 10 years ago, the adult film star, Stormy Daniels, who claims she had an affair with POTUS, Omarosa’s tapes, and many more evidence of ’s inappropriate behavior.

Nukes and jokes

In “The Homega Man,” Springfield’s Mayor Quimby makes France angry with an offensive joke about frogs — “I stand by my ethnic slur!” and doesn’t apologize for that. As a result, France drops the nuclear bomb on the city turning it into post-apocalyptic nuke nightmare.

Sounds familiar? Sure! has almost declared a nuclear war several times with various countries, including France and North Korea: the handshake with French president Emanuel Macron and tweet about bigger nuclear buttons than Kim Jong-un’s are always in our memory.

Colin Kaepernick case

Last but not least: 2004 episode “Bart-Mangled Banner” isn’t the same as the case we will describe below, but the deep meaning of the incidents is practically the equal. Bart accidentally disgraced the US flag, but the community didn’t care about the series of coincidences that led to it, but instead just accused of crimes that are far from reality.

Kaepernick, 30, who took a knee during the national anthem in protest of police brutality and racial inequality last played in the NFL in 2016.

Kaepernick’s protest sparked other athletes to follow suit and outrage from NFL owners, sports fans, and from President . During a rally in Alabama in 2017, told supporters he’d love to see an NFL owner say, “get that son of a bitch off the field right now” and fire any player who refuses to stand during the national anthem.

In the series of critic comments, people forgot why  Kaepernick actually protested – against social justice and police brutality against African-Americans.
