A wonderful opportunity to observe nearly 1.7 billion stars in unprecedented detail appeared thanks to a highly anticipated release of data from the European Space Agency’s Gaia spacecraft.

The new 3D map, which was unveiled here at the ILA Berlin Air Show, offers the best-ever look at the Milky Way — now in color — and promises to unleash hundreds of scientific discoveries about our galactic home and beyond.

ExoMars photo

The European Space Agency’s (ESA) ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter just beamed home the amazing new image from April 15.

The photo was taken by the satellite’s Colour and Stereo Surface Imaging System (CaSSIS) right after the satellite moved into a new orbit about 400 kilometers above the world’s surface. The lighting is what makes it really special.

n July, NASA will make another first for the agency and humankind. It will send the first ever probe to the sun in order to learn more about the big ball of fire that is the center of the solar system. gave the first glimpse of the rockets carrying the probe into space at an event held last week.

Garlic bread in space

One more unusual thing in space, after Tesla car, is garlic bread.

YouTuber Tom Scott and a group of experts tied a loaf of garlic bread onto a weather balloon in attempt to send it to the edge of space. Aside from sending it off, Scott wanted to test how the bread would taste once it’s been on the edge of the atmosphere for over two hours. And the reason this bread was taken is “Because it’s delicious.”
