3. Automotive industry legend Lee Iacocca dies at the age of 94
Iacocca is credited with being one of the minds behind the development of the Ford Mustang and for saving Chrysler from bankruptcy in the 80s. He died on Tuesday at the age of 94.
4. A solar eclipse is happening in South America
Thousands are gathering to watch a solar eclipse outside Chile’s La Silla Observatory. It is set to appear over Chile at around 4:38 PM ET and will end near Buenos Aires, Argentina at 4:44 PM ET.
5. 14 sailors killed in fire on deep-sea submersible, Russian defense ministry says
Russian media reports quoted the country’s Ministry of Defense as saying the navy research vessel caught fire while carrying out a survey in Russian territorial waters on Monday.
