Let us start with the most painful one for almost any modern person. Specialists recommend to turn off all your electronic devices because the light from them is really bad for your sleep. Try to stop falling asleep while watching a TV show or reading a book, better switch to paper books, they are better for your eyes as well.
Creativity
Speaking about books. If you like to do something before sleep, book or meditation is the best choice. Doing creative things like drawing, playing instruments or writing something will keep your brain busy, hence very much active. Stick to more calm activities.
Drinking water

“But everybody says we have to drink a lot of water every day” you might say and well… you’re right but not before going to bed. You will most definitely wake up at night and will have bags under eyes in the morning. You can still drink water in the evening, though, but not too much.
Hot shower

Taking a hot shower before bed will cause problems with your sleep and will make your skin more vulnerable if you stay in hot water for more than 10 minutes. Try taking cold or warm showers instead, it will make you less energized.
Nap

If you nap at daytime for more than an hour or hour and a half you will definitely ruin your night sleep and your whole sleeping routine. Try to stay away from napping and if you can’t, at least don’t sleep in the evening.
Working out
It always feels like if you get tired you sleep better. And that’s true, but if you go from gym straight to the bed, your body will be too energized for sleep. So, try to finish your exercises not less than 4 hours before sleep time.
Smoking
We all know that smoking is not that good for your health in general but did you know that it also affects your sleep? Nicotine stimulates your brain activity and your whole body. If you smoke and don’t want to quit, try smoking at least 1.5 hours before going to bed.
These are the main things that prevent you from good night rest, try to avoid them and get that desired healthy sleep.
