The issue that most fascinates the public remains Charles’s divorce from Diana, her early in a 1997 Paris car crash and his subsequent marriage in 2005 to Camilla.

The Princess of Wales made a number of revelations in the groundbreaking BBC interview in 1995 which was watched by 22.8 million viewers.

One of her most famous lines from the interview was “There were three of us in that marriage so it was a little crowded”.

The Prince of Wales has sought to quell concerns that he would be a “meddling” or activist king, saying “I’m not that stupid”. His words, the strongest yet on the subject of his kinghood, are to be broadcast in a documentary on BBC One to mark his 70th birthday.

Declaring the role of sovereign and heir to be different, Prince Charles maintains he is aware of the constraints he will encounter as king, and says his behaviour will change. Acknowledging that some people have accused him of being a meddling prince, he argues that he has always tried to be non-party political. “It is vital to remember there’s only room for one sovereign at a time. Not two,” he says.

The film “Prince, Son And Heir: Charles At 70” will air on the UK’s BBC One at 9 p.m. local time Thursday.

It’s been revealed by the Daily Mail that Prince George and Princess Charlotte have a brilliant nickname for their grandfather, Prince Charles. Rather than the more straightforward Grandad, Grandpa, or Grandfather, George and Charlotte apparently call Prince Charles “Grandpa Wales.”

This, of course, is in reference to the fact that he is the Prince of Wales, and we can probably all agree that this is both a super cute name for him, and possibly a little bit cheeky, too.

Per royal correspondent Hannah Furness for The Telegraph, William and Harry discuss Prince Charles’ passion for cleaning up the planet in the new interview, and how their dad has influenced them over the years. In fact, Prince Harry and Prince William reveal that they got teased at school for “picking up rubbish,” a habit which their dad inspired.

Per The Telegraph, William reveals, “He took us litter picking when we were younger… We thought this is perfectly normal, everyone must do it. We were there with our spikes stabbing the rubbish into black plastic bags.” And while this might seem like a slightly strange vacation activity, it’s clearly had a lasting impact on both of Charles’ sons.
