Nodar Kumaritashvili, 21
On 12 February 2010, Kumaritashvili was fatally injured in a crash during his final training run. Unexpectedly, he lost control and was thrown off his luge.
He fell over the track with a steel support pole. The speed of the luge was 89.2 mph.

Nicolas Bochatay, 27
Nicolas Bochatay – a Swiss speed skier who died during the 1992 Winter Olympics.
Bochatay crashed into a snowcat. He died immediately.
Kazimierz Kay-Skrzypecki, 55
Georgian athlete, Kazimierz Kay-Skrzypecki, was killed during a luge training run at the Olympics 1964.
He lost control of his sled and was thrown off the track. Kay-Skrzypecki was treated on-site and then hospitalized. Soon he died.

Bahman Golbarnezhad, 48
Golbarnezhad died during the 2016 Summer Paralympics. He suffered a head injury during a collision with a rock.
Golbarnezhad was hospitalized immediately, but eventually, he died from a cardiac arrest.

Hyginus Anugo, 22
A Nigerian runner, Hyginus Anugo, was struck by a car during the training on the Olympics 2000.
Anugo was with the team in Adelaide, in south-central Australia.
