4 Reasons To Buy NEW Samsung Galaxy S9 – Is It Better Than iPhone X?
Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone was announced on Sunday at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) event in Barcelona.
The newest models S9 and S9+ will go on sale March 16, but customers will be able to pre-order it this Friday (March 2).
Nexter.org compared Samsung S9 with Apple’s iPhone X.
Design and Display
The two phones have a number of similarities, such as their OLED screen technology and a major focus on photography, but there’s a whole lot more that’s different.
Here’s how new Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ looks:

The Galaxy S9 has a similar design to its previous model – Galaxy S8.
IT has the a 5.8-inch quadHD AMOLED display with a tall 18:9 aspect ratio, which is now pretty standard among the top flagship smartphones.
The Galaxy S9+ has a 6.2-inch quadHD AMOLED display, also with a 18:9 aspect ratio.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 comes in a new color – lilac purple additionally to midnight black, titanium grey, and coral blue.
Galaxy S9 colour options. Few cosmetic changes beyond the S8 other than fingerprint sensor placement but lots on incremental improvements. #MWC18 #GalaxyS9 pic.twitter.com/aZqTrXN7LM

Twitter users criticized the variety of available colors wishing to see gold or rose gold options.
Why is it so hard for samsung to make a pretty colour like copper or rose gold…. they always come with the ugliest shades of pink and blue so I keep picking boring ass white or black phones.. #GalaxyS9

Camera and photography skills
The Galaxy S9 has the potential to take better photos than any previous Galaxy S smartphone but what if comparing to iPhone X?
Both cameras have 12 MP and Samsung’s S9 Plus has even two cameras: a wide-angle, and a telephoto (like the iPhone X).
However, Samsung new flagships are equipped with a f1.5 aperture compared to Apple’s f1.8. This feature allows taking more sharp and qualitative photos in the low-light conditions.
When you take a picture with the S9, you actually capture 12 images simultaneously and the phone then creates a single shot that includes all the detail you want, but with as little grain and noise as possible.
Also, Samsung allows slow motion shooting at up to 960fps, compared to just 240fps on the iPhone X.

AR Emoji
If you’ve been dreaming about Apple’s Animoji, Samsung also has something to offer.
The Galaxy S9 has a similar feature called AR Emoji, that allows you create an emoji of your face and have it mimic your expressions.
That’s powered by the 8MP f/1.7 front-facing camera, while the iPhone X has a 7MP f/2.2 one.

The price
Preorders for the Galaxy S9 begin on March 2 starting for $720 for the regular Galaxy S9 model, and $840 for the Galaxy S9+.
As for iPhone X prices start from $999 for 64 Gb and $1,149 for 256 Gb.
The fingerprint sensor
Samsung S8 users were satisfied with the location of the fingerprint sensor and the developers heard the message.
The fingerprint sensor is now underneath the camera, which should hopefully make it more natural to use.
