There are two different theories about when exactly the world will see the smartphone. It could be scheduled to make their first public appearance at January’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

But Techradar predicts it might be launched at Mobile World Congress 2018, as that’s likely to take place at that sort of time.

Main features

  • It is predicted, two new phones will have similar appearance to the Galaxy S8 and S8+ previous models.
  • Samsung S9 and S9+, codenamed Star 1 and Star 2, equipped with the same 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch curved-edge Super AMOLED “Infinity” displays as their predecessors.
  • As Samsung and Qualcomm rumored to work together on a new mobile chip, apparently it will be called the Snapdragon 845 – and is supposedly going to be used in the Samsung Galaxy S9.
  • The S9+ will offer more RAM (6GB versus 4GB) and a second rear camera, similar to the Note8. Both models pack 64GB of internal storage, supplemented by a microSD slot, and both leave the 3.5-millimeter headphone jack intact.
  • However, everybody is talking about the fingerprint sensor position. In S8, S8+, and Note 8 version it was placed next to the lens on the back panel and the company received plenty complaints. This time the fingerprint sensor locates back below the camera.

What about the price?

The cost hasn’t been officially announced yet, but Techradar considers Galaxy S9 will have almost the same price as its predecessor, that is about $725. The prediction is based on lack of massive design changes.
