The author of comics, a writer and ex-chief of Marvel Stan Lee has died. He died at the age of 95. Fans and celebrities share memories and pay tribute to Lee’s legendary creations.

Who was Stan Lee?

Stan Lee was a comic book writer that took a position of the editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics and a  chairman. He is the creator of the most famous heroes of the Marvel universe, including Spider-Man, Hulk, X-Men, Iron Man, Thor, The Avengers, and the Fantastic Four. He also played in episodic roles in films based on Marvel comics: “X-Men”, “Spiderman”, “Iron Man”, “Daredevil”, “Hulk” and others.

In recent years, the author of comics suffered from several diseases – he had pneumonia and vision problems. In early 2016, Stan Lee complained that he had lost the ability to read and write.

In February, the former chairman of Marvel was hospitalized due to heart and respiratory problems at Cedars-Sinai hospital. Later, doctors reported that the condition of the man has stabilized. It is noted that Stan Lee’s family called an ambulance to his house. However, he died immediately after arriving at the hospital.

Celebrities pay tribute to Stan Lee

Jimmy Kimmel shared a drawing of Stan Lee that he made in the childhood:

Chris Evans‏ wrote on Twitter, “There will never be another Stan Lee. For decades he provided both young and old with adventure, escape, comfort, confidence, inspiration, strength, friendship and joy. He exuded love and kindness and will leave an indelible mark on so, so, so many lives. Excelsior!!”

Hugh Jackman shared a picture of him and Stan Lee and write an emotional post about his legacy. “We’ve lost a creative genius. Stan Lee was a pioneering force in the superhero universe. I’m proud to have been a small part of his legacy and …. to have helped bring one of his characters to life.”

Zoe Saldana‏ also paid tribute to Marvel chairman by posting a pic of him and James Gunn, saying “Today we lost one of the greats. @TheRealStanLee, you were a inspiration and superhero to us all. Thank you for contributing so much- and giving us all something to aspire to!”

Elon Musk said on Twitter “Rest in peace, Stan Lee. The many worlds of imagination & delight you created for humanity will last forever.”

Dwayne Johnson‏ also posted a picture captioned with strong statement, “What a man. What a life. When I first broke into Hollywood, he welcomed me with open arms and some very sage advice I’ll forever take to heart. A true icon who impacted generations around the world. Rest in love, my friend.”
