Mata Hari, Margaretha Geertruida “Margreet” MacLeod, (1876–1917) was a Dutch exotic dancer famous for her unusually skimpy outfit – a bejeweled bra. Also, her dancing style acquired the top place around Europe.

In 1916, she accepted an offer to spy for France and passed military information learned from her clients in Germany to the French government. Then, she was wrongly accused of being a German spy during WWI and was executed by firing squad in France.

Anna Chapman

In 2010, Anna Chapman, born Anna Kushchyenko, was arrested with 9 others who were suspected of working as a spy for Russia. Chapman admitted she was a Russian intelligence agent and was deported back to Russia.

Chapman was the owner of the real estate company in Manhattan. Meanwhile, she often visited the most popular clubs as she was working as a spy on a secret mission to get “sensitive information” and “used her femininity to get information.”

Nancy Wake

Nancy Wake aka ‘White Mouse’ by the Gestapo is a key woman of the French resistance in WWII. Nancy acquired her fame when she cycled 300 miles through German checkpoints to replace codes to destroy in a German raid. Then, she became the part of the Special Operations Executive (SOE).

Moreover, Nancy helped to lead attacks on SS soldiers causing 1,400 death. Also, it’s worth mentioning that Wake killed an SS member with her bare hands to stop him from raising the alarm. Her husband was viciously killed while trying to hide the information about her from the Gestapo.

Yoshiko Kawashima

Yoshiko Kawashima,  born Aisin Gioro Xianyu, is a Chinese princess of Manchu descent that was raised in Japan and served as a spy for the Japanese army during the Second Sino-Japanese War.

She dressed up as a man to get the information for the Japanese army, “I was born with what the doctors call a tendency towards the third sex. And so, I cannot pursue an ordinary woman’s goals in life,” she stated. As the war was ended, she was executed.

In the end, she was arrested by the Gestapo and refused to provide any information about British military strategy. Later on, Khan was then killed in Dachau concentration camp.
