Prince Louis was christened in an intimate ceremony with close friends and family in The Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace last Monday.
In one adorable photo, Kate can be seen beaming as she gazes down at her little bundle of joy surrounded in the gardens of Clarence House. The candid moment beautifully captures a mother’s love for her child, with Louis seen with his eyes open in the shot.

Previous christeningsÂ
The christenings of William and Kate’s other two children were small, intimate affairs. Only 22 people attended the christening of Prince George, held on October 23, 2013.
He too was christened at Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace in London by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
The small affair saw only senior royals, four members of the Middleton family, seven godparents and their spouses invited to the ceremony.
His godparents are Zara Tindall, Emilia Jardine-Paterson and Julia Samuel, as well as William van Cutsem, Hugh Grosvenor, the Duke of Westminster, Oliver Baker, and Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, a former private secretary to William.

A similarly small crowd attended Princess Charlotte’s christening, held at Church of St Mary Magdalene, Sandringham on July 5, 2015. Again only senior royals attended, and the four Middletons, along with five godparents and their spouses.

Charlotte’s godparents are Sophie Carter and William’s cousin Laura Fellowes, plus James Reade, Adam Middleton and Thomas van Straubenzee.
