Presidents’ Day in 2018 is on Monday, the 19th of February. Here are top facts to know about the holiday this year and best deals.

Key facts and when to celebrate

In the United States, Presidents Day is always celebrated on the third Monday of February. This year it is scheduled for Feb. 19.

Presidents’ Day marks a celebration of George Washington’s birthday, the first president of the country and all of the men who went on to serve as president after him.

However, the moving the holiday from a specific date to predetermined Mondays created a long weekend for leisure.

The strategies of marketers have meant that the holiday is now almost completely given over to travel, family vacations, and shopping.
