The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) published the alert at the Mayon volcano in the southern part of Luzon with “level 4-5” which will possibly erupt within hours or days.

The volcano is situated on the island of Luzon, about 330 kilometers (205 miles) southeast of Manila.

“We strongly advise all people, both residents and tourists, to avoid the danger zone, and airlines to avoid flying near the volcano summit,” agency chief Solidum stated.

The danger zone around the 2,5-metre (8 feet) volcano has been expanded to 5 mile-radius.
