It’s AWFUL: OnePlus 40,000 Customers Affected By Breach of Credit Cards Data

OnePlus confirmed the huge credit cards data breach of up to 40,000 customers. Credit card payments remain suspended during the ongoing investigation.

What happened

On Jan 19 OnePlus smartphones company officially confirmed they have indeed been attacked. As a result of the breach of credit cards data of up to 40,000 users were affected that caused the company shut down credit card payments for its online store earlier this week.

Moreover, it turned out that the script that stole the data had been running on one of OnePlus payment processing servers since mid-November. It means that customers who entered their credit card info on oneplus.net between mid-November 2017 and January 11, 2018, may be affected, according to OnePlus.

The script captured full credit card information, including card numbers, expiry dates, and security codes directly from a customer’s browser window. The investigation continues.
