A Beyoncé documentary is dropping on Netflix next week and we are as excited as you are. So check here everything we know about the movie so far.

When does Homecoming hit Netflix?

Bey’s new documentary will drop on the streaming giant on April 17. And Netflix has confirmed to OprahMag.com that it’s set to go live at 12:01 a.m. PT, or 3 a.m. ET. So East Coast members of the #Beyhive are in for a late night—but at least we’ve been warned.

What the movie is going to be about?

Beyoncé’s latest documentary chronicles all that went into her unforgettable 2018 Coachella performance, which paid tribute to the Black experience in America while honoring historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs).

Beyoncé also launched a scholarship program last year called the “Homecoming Scholars Award Program,” which provided four Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) each a $25,000 scholarship to award to a student of their choice.

Beyonce’s kids to appear on screen too

We expect the documentary to come with plenty of never-before-seen footage that offers insight into Beyoncé’s private world. So far, the trailer gives us a glimpse at someone close to her heart: her 7-year-old daughter with Jay-Z, Blue Ivy.

Look closely, and you’ll see her dancing near mom while twirling her head. Bey’s toddler twins Rumi and Sir also make a quick yet adorable appearance.

What the Greek style letters are for?

Bey opened her performance singing “Crazy in Love” accompanied by a New Orleans-style brass marching band, donning a yellow hoodie with the Greek letters Beta Delta Kappa. The hoodie was a reference to the Divine Nine, the five African American fraternities and four sororities.

What did we learn from the trailer?

The trailer opens with footage of Beyoncé preparing for the performance with teams of dancers and musicians as a voiceover of Maya Angelou plays.

“I want to be representative of my race — the human race,” Angelou says over images of the singer rehearsing.

“I have a chance to show how kind we can be, how intelligent and generous we can be. I have a chance to teach and to love and to laugh,” Angelou says as images play of Beyoncé’s performers practicing and getting ready to go onstage.

“I know that when I finish doing what I’m sent here to do, I will be called home, and I will go home without any fear, trepidations, wondering what’s going to happen.”

The trailer also includes some very behind-the-scenes footage of the singer working out in preparation for the grueling sets.

It features intimate moments of the singer and her family, including a shot of her laughing with husband Jay-Z.

Beyoncé fans on Twitter quickly pointed out that the length of the documentary suggests that it will include ~entire performances~ from the set, shot from multiple angles in HD.
