Polar vortex makes the city take radical measuresÂ

On Tuesday, January 29, the air temperature may drop to  25 to 27 degrees below zero. This is reported by the US National Weather Service.

A record cold temperatures in the eastern United States of America is expected due to the chilled arctic air from a polar vortex that usually moves around the North Pole.

The residents of the city shared the viral images and video of the train tracks on fire. However, these hardcore measures are the common practice for Metra, the city’s rail station, since snow and ice don’t let the system work properly.
The flames actually run adjacent to the rails, Metra spokesperson stated via BuzzFeed News.
