At least 23 people were hurt, 4 seriously on Tuesday as a fire raging through an apartment building in the Bronx, for the second in less than a week.

The 7-alarm fire broke out at about 5:30 a.m. local in a four-story brick structure with a furniture store on the ground floor, Kenneth Reilly told Reuters.

Officials said over 200 firefighters have responded to the blaze at a four-story building near the Bronx Zoo in Van Nest. The cause was yet to be determined.


Last Thursday, fire broke out in New York at 7 p.m. EST in an apartment in Bronx, as well. As a result, 12 people killed, including infant child. That fire was caused by a three-year-old boy playing with the burners of a kitchen stove in one of the apartments, officials said.
