Nexter Movie News: ‘Toy Story 4’ and ‘Child’s Play’ Premieres, ‘Stranger Things’ Season 3 Final Trailer + More

714 prepared for you a weekly dose of new movie releases, fresh trailers and announcements you might have missed this week.

‘Toy Story 4’ premiere

Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the toys got a new owner: a local toddler named Bonnie. The gang and Bonnie are going on a road trip with Bonnie and a new toy she makes herself at school called Forky.

The journey takes an unexpected turn when Forky decides he doesn’t want to be a toy because he’s “trash”, only a fork. This makes Woody chase after him in an attempt to ensure Bonnie’s favorite new toy gets back to her safely.

‘Child’s Play’ premiere

A contemporary re-imagining of the 1988 horror classic, Child’s Play follows Karen (Aubrey Plaza), a single mother who gifts her son Andy (Gabriel Bateman) a Buddi doll, unaware of its more sinister nature.

‘Dark’ Season 2 premiere

The first season of Netflix’s Dark premiered in the streaming service back in December 2017, and it feels like an eternity since we last saw our favorite residents of Winden, Germany.

As for the second season, it’s been confirmed that it’ll open with scenes set in 1921 along with a new modern-day time period of 2020. An image of the season’s script also hints at different inserts from June 21, 1954, 1987 and in 2020.

Big questions we hope to be resolved include why exactly Michael killed himself – and why he’s always drenched in icky black goo when Jonas sees him. Plus, what exactly is Father Noah up to (aside from all that kidnap and murders, of course)?

‘Stranger Things’ Season 3 new trailer

The final trailer for the third season of the series has just dropped, taking a noticeably darker turn than previous teasers, which had Billy commanding the public pool as a lifeguard and Steve serving up ice cream.

“You let us in, and now, you are going to have to let us stay,” a mysterious voice can be heard in the new trailer. Stranger ThingsSeason 3 hits Netflix on July 4.

‘Sex and the City’ TV show

Sex and the City author Candice Bushnell has a new novel out in August titled Is There Still Sex in the City? that’s been picked up by Paramount Television and Anonymous Content.

The forthcoming television show, which Bushnell is set to executive produce and write the pilot script for, will follow the lives of New York City women navigating their way through friendships, dating, marriage, and their sex lives. The major difference between this iteration and the original Sex and the City is that the women featured are in their 50’s and 60’s.

A new version of ‘Avengers: Endgame’ is coming

Avengers: Endgame is finally getting an official post-credits scene, with a limited-time rerelease in theaters this weekend.

Marvel Studios co-president Kevin Feige told Screen Rant that a new version of Endgame will appear in theaters that has a couple of additional scenes not in the original. Feige said if people “stay and watch the movie, after the credits, there’ll be a deleted scene, a little tribute, and a few surprises.”

New Pixar movie coming called’ Soul’

Studio describes the film as ‘a journey from the streets of New York City to the cosmic realms’ Pixar has announced a new movie coming in the summer of 2020. ‘Soul’ will be released on 19 June 2019.

‘Soul’ will be directed by Pete Docter, the Oscar-winning animator behind ‘Up’ and ‘Inside Out’.

Netflix announced the psychological thriller series, which stars Sivan Alyra, Uma Thurman and Tony Goldwyn, would not be renewed for a second season. Fans of the show, and its strides for Native American representation on American television, are upset.
