“Replicas” premiere

In Replicas, Keanu Reeves plays neuro-scientist William Foster, who is on the verge of successfully transferring human consciousness into a computer when his family (including wife Mona, played by Alice Eve) is killed in a car crash.

Desperate to resurrect his family, William recruits fellow scientist Ed Whittle (Thomas Middleditch) to help him secretly clone their bodies and create replicas. William ultimately faces a “Sophie’s Choice” when it turns out that they can only bring three of the four family members back to life.

“The Upside” premiere

Inspired by a true story, The Upside is a heartfelt comedy about a recently paroled ex-convict (Kevin Hart) who strikes up an unusual and unlikely friendship with a paralyzed billionaire (Bryan Cranston). Directed by Neil Burger and written by Jon Hartmere, The Upside is a remake of the hit 2011 French film ‘The Intouchables’.

HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel finally announced its cast and pilot director.

The cast, as announced by EW includes Denise Gough, Georgie Henley, Alex Sharp, Reign’s Toby Regbo, Harlots’ Shella Atim Naomi Ackie, Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts actor Jamie Campbell Bower, Black Mirror’s Ivanno Jeremiah, and Naomi Ackie, whose Star Wars Episode IX role is still undisclosed.

These actors will join Naomi Watts, whose leading role as a “socialite” was announced months ago.

“Punisher” Season 2 trailer

Frank Castle is back for another round of morally gray murder in Season 2 of Netflix’s The Punisher, and based on the above trailer, not much has changed.

Castle, played by Jon Bernthal, is loaded up with a whole bunch of guns and guilt in the trailer as he goes after a gang of masked villains the only way he knows how: bullets and a low, gruff voice.

The Punisher  Season 2 bursts onto Netflix on Jan. 18.

Amazon launches new free and TV streaming channel through IMDB


IMDb, the movie and TV website owned by Amazon, launched a free streaming channel on Thursday. Called IMDb Freedive, it’s available to U.S. viewers on the IMDb website and Amazon Fire TV devices.

IMDb Freedive offers a variety of content, spanning film and television, at no cost. There is no IMDb or Amazon Prime subscription required, as the service is supported by advertisements. Viewers simply need to create a free IMDb account to begin watching.

Older like The Illusionist, Memento, and The Last Samurai are currently available to watch on the service. Fringe, Heroes, Without a Trace, and The Bachelor make up some of Freedive’s current television offerings. (There are multiple categories on the service, including drama, comedies, horror, action, family, and so on.) The streaming service also boasts of a few IMDb original series’ that take a look at the movie and TV industry.

‘Captain Marvel’ highest first-day ticket sales

Captain Marvel, the hero poised to save our Avengers post-Infinity War, is already proving herself one of the strongest Avengers with a first-day pre-sale record on Atom tickets. In its first 24 hours of ticket sales, Captain Marvel beat out Deadpool 2, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and even Black Panther’s established sales records.

Margot Robbie will play Barbie in a live-action film

The Australian actor will star as the iconic doll in a live-action film that is due to be released next year.

Warner Bros. and Mattel have partnered to bring Barbie to the big screen. Margot Robbie set to portray the live-action version of the iconic doll.

The Barbie adaptation marks the first announced deal to come out of Mattel’s newly-established Mattel Films, led by producer Robbie Brenner, as well as the first collaboration between Mattel Films and Warner Bros. Pictures.
