MyFitnessPal under attack

The company, Under Armour, purchased the application ‘MyFitnessPal’ in 2015. The software is designed to let the users monitor calorie intake and create a personal exercise complex.

Hackers could not access credit cards, social security card numbers and driver’s licenses. The company already warned users about the incident and asked them to change the passwords in the application.

“Four days after learning of the issue, the company began notifying the MyFitnessPal community via email and through in-app messaging,” stated Under Armour in the statement,The company will be requiring MyFitnessPal users to change their passwords and is urging users to do so immediately.”

However, they have stolen user names, email addresses, and hashed passwords, which is the perfect set for ad targeting.

It is also noted that Under Armor lost 4.6% of its market value (to $15.59) after a cyber attack report.

The app currently has about 225 million users, according to an Under Armour spokesperson.
