Movie News and Rumors: ‘First Man’, ‘Bad Times at the El Royale’ Premieres, ‘Aladdin’ First Teaser + 3 More

882 prepared for you a weekly dose of most interesting movies premieres and announcements you might have missed this week.

‘First Man’ Premiere

All eyes are on Damien Chazelle’s next project First Man after the list of Oscars wins and nominations for his last two projects, La La Land and Whiplash.

As you might know, the story is about astronaut Neil Armstrong and the legendary NASA’s mission to put the first man on the moon. The film also tells the story of astronaut’s life between 1961 and 1969.

Based on James R. Hansen’s novel of the same name, the film will, “explore the sacrifices and the cost — on Armstrong and on the nation — of one of the most dangerous space missions in history.”

‘First Man’ opens in theaters Oct. 12.

‘Bad Times at the El Royale’ Premiere

Well, this is a story about seven strangers in the 1960s, all with some sort of a dark secret in their past, who wind up at the same chintzy motel whose main attraction is that it straddles the state line of Nevada and California.

From trailers, we know that there is secret surveillance (guests can be watched in the room, presumably through two-way mirrors, from secret passageways).

‘‘Bad Times at the El Royale’ will hit theaters on October 12.

Slappy is back to wreak more havoc this Halloween in a brand-new comedy adventure based on R.L. Stine’s 400-million-selling series of books.

‘Aladdin’ first teaser

“Aladdin” is the exciting tale of the charming street rat Aladdin, the courageous and self-determined Princess Jasmine and the Genie who may be the key to their future.

Directed by Guy Ritchie, who brings his singular flair for fast-paced, visceral action to the fictitious port city of Agrabah, the film is written by John August and Ritchie based on Disney’s “Aladdin.”

“Aladdin” stars Will Smith as the larger-than-life Genie; Mena Massoud as the charming scoundrel Aladdin; Naomi Scott as Jasmine, the beautiful, self-determined princess; Marwan Kenzari as Jafar, the powerful sorcerer and many others.
