The sinister suicide “game” called “Momo” has been spreading on WhatsApp, making the police to issue warnings about the sick and dangerous challenge. 

The creepy doll which is associated with the suicidal game is a life-like figure with grotesque and horrifying enlarged features, with huge, bulging eyes and a beak-like mouth which curves upwards in a haunting smile.

True scary story behind the creepy face

” is associated with the creepy cropped image of a sculpture of a woman with huge bulging eyes, ominous smile and Ring-girl-like black hair.

This doll was created by Japanese artist, Midori Hiyashi. To make her look terrifying the artist made her bulging eyeballs with large black pupils and her legs are made of the remains of animals.

Hayashi, who is not associated with the challenge at all, recently displayed the doll in an art gallery in Tokyo, Japan. The image was then picked up on Reddit, where it began to circulate before becoming attached to the game.

“In social networks, the image of a terrifying woman is circulating,” police says in a statement. “They call her ‘Momo’ and she invites those who see her to write to her through WhatsApp.” If kids do not respond her, she will appear in the night and curse them.

What’s Momo Suicide Challenge? 

As Nexter.org previously explained, “Momo” is a viral challenge that asks people to add a contact in WhatsApp (messaging app), then they have to harm themselves or to commit suicide. It’s similar to “Blue Whale challenge,” a social media group that encourages people to kill themselves, that led to multiple suicides in Russia and US.

The challenge started spreading in a Facebook group that encouraged to write a person with an unknown telephone number. This new challenge targets children and teenagers.  “Avoid talking with strangers,” The Mexican State of Tabasco warns.

Unfortunately, got to a 12-year-old girl in the district of Escobar. She died in an apparent suicide in Argentina, The Buenos Aires Times reports. The girl captured herself on camera before hanging herself. The police investigate whether someone made her commit suicide and it might be the sinister Momo Suicide Challenge.

If you happen to see her, be careful and do NOT write a letter to Momo.
