Despite breastfeeding is a very natural thing, still many people use to shame mothers all over the world for their public moments of nursing. Even famous women are not an exception.

Model Mara Martin has been in the headlines lately, after nursing her baby on the catwalk as part of a Sports Illustrated swimsuit show. She has been hailed as ’empowering’ and ‘inspirational’ by lots of articles.

Australian senator Larissa Waters broke the glass ceiling in Parliament when she breastfed her 3-month-old daughter while addressing her fellow lawmakers.

“First time I’ve had to move a Senate motion while breastfeeding! And my partner in crime moved her own motion just before mine, bless her,” Waters tweeted.

About a month earlier, Waters became the first to breastfeed in Parliment after returning from a 10-week-long maternity leave and was key in passing legislation last year allowing parliamentary members to breastfeed in chambers.

During a gala benefiting her husband’s foundation earlier this week, the wife of retired Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps took some time away from the festivities to pump milk for her 3-month-old son Beckett Richard. She documented the experience with a selfie that showed a breast pad fully visible under her black sequined dress.

“I want it to be known women don’t have to hide in a bathroom to take a moment to provide our babies with food,” she wrote.

After The Walking Dead star posted a photo of herself feeding her infant daughter — and apparently received some harsh words from followers — she shared a pretty perfect response. “This is my body and my page. So I will post what I want, when I want,” Serratos captioned the image. “Those who disapprove can suck my left tit.  #workingmom #chill,” added the 26-year-old actress unapologetically.

“I certainly didn’t expect people to be upset at the obscenity of public breastfeeding,” Wilde revealed to HuffPost Live, opening up about her breastfeeding portrait in a 2014 issue of Glamour. “I was shocked that there were still people who find it inappropriate because they think it’s a sexual thing. I think that says a lot about them.”

Alyssa Milano

On a memorable appearance on The Wendy Williams Show, Milano discussed breastfeeding in public — an issue the talk show host and the actress clashed over, with Williams telling the star that “breastfeeding is only a particular amount of time. The rest of your life, your breasts are sexual things.”  Milano, who regularly posts snapshots of herself breastfeeding her daughter on Instagram, responded: “Biologically they’re not made for sexual things, that’s what we’ve done to them.”

Tess Holliday

Model and mama of two Tess Holliday has long been a proponent of the #normalizebreastfeeding movement. “Don’t let anyone make you feel bad about feeding your child, wherever that may be,” her fiancé Nick wrote next to a black-and-white snap of their son Bowie breastfeeding three weeks after he was born. “And for the women out there who can’t breastfeed, don’t let anyone make you feel bad about that either.” All that’s missing is the ‘praise hands’ emoji.

Chrissy Teigen

Leave it to Chrissy Teigen to go extra-glam while letting daughter Luna lunch. The model fed her daughter in Fergie’s new “M.I.L.F.$.” video, a moment she called“beautiful. I was [like], ‘[Luna’s] here, and it’s ‘MILF Money’ – I would love to capture this moment with her.’ They were so accommodating of a newborn baby. It was like 10 minutes, but it went by so fast, I loved it.”
