Some guys like Elon Musk or Bill Gates spend their whole life working hard and inventing things that change the world. Others could become stinking rich just by accident. Maybe you’ll be the next one?

Keep on reading to know more.

50 Cent

Seems that being worldwide famous musical it’s not enough for 50 Cent (a.k.a. Curtis Jackson). He decided to get on a roll and accept bitcoin for purchases of his 2014 album, Animal Ambition.

Maybe this guy has a time-machine?

That’s the only explanation we got because the value of those sales has since skyrocketed and the rapper’s bitcoin holding is now reportedly worth more than $7.5 million.

“Not Bad for a kid from South Side, I’m so proud of me,” 50 Cent wrote in an Instagram post citing TMZ’s story about his unexpected windfall.

Wondering why he didn’t use them while bitcoin price was nearly $20k? Oh, the answer is very amusing: “I’m a keep it real. I forgot I did that s***”, Curtis Jackson said.

Back when 50 Cent released his 2014 album, bitcoin was mostly known as a “virtual currency” that was still trying to push its way into the mainstream. The game company Zynga accepted it for some purchases, as did Dell and electronics retailer Newegg — and by the end of the year, so did Microsoft.

The Winklevoss

A few years ago, twin brothers Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss sued Mark Zuckerberg and accused him of stealing the idea of Facebook social network. As a result, they received compensation in the amount of $66 million. Some part of the money – $11 million – they invested in Bitcoin. And it was damn good decision.

Their slice of the Bitcoin pie was over $1 billion after Bitcoin surged past $10,000 milestone in December 2017. The cryptocurrency has surged over 10,000 percent since the Winklevoss’ investment, when one coin traded at around $120.

The man who threw away bitcoins

What’s was the stupidest thing you’ve done? You know what – it doesn’t really matter because you won’t beat James Howells from UK. The point is that he accidentally threw away over $80 million worth of bitcoin.

The IT worker have unintentionally dumped hard drive that contained bitcoins in mid-2013.

“I kept the hard drive in a drawer in my office for three years without a second thought – totally forgot about bitcoin all together,” he said.

“When I went to the tip the manager took me up to the current landfill site and when I saw it – it’s about the size of a football field – my first thought was ‘no chance’,” he said.

“The manager explained that things that were sent to landfill three or four months ago could be three to five feet deep.

“He confirmed my worst fears when he said that.

“He did mention that when people were investigating for evidence, they turn up with 15 to 20 people in full protective gear with diggers and dogs as well.

“The truth is I haven’t got the funds or ability to make that happen at the moment without a definite pay cheque at the end of it.”
