Mark Zuckerberg Announced Major Changes in Facebook: Are They Really ‘Good for People’?

643

Three months ago, Facebook was showing the users two news feed as they were testing some updated related to the news feed in the social media.

This time, Mark Zuckerberg reveals some details about the changes. Read Nexter to know more.

What are the main updates?

Most of the changes will be concerned the news feed from friends and family to increase effective interaction.

Also, the articles published by the brands will be shown less often and the recommendations will be more “meaningful”.

Facebook encourages users to read more of their friends and people they know, rather than just scrolling articles or videos and believe anything they see.

“…too often today, watching video, reading news or getting a page update is just a passive experience,” stated Zuckerberg in his recent post.

Quite serious measures, why?

Due to the recent manipulation related to Russian propaganda, Mark Zuckerberg made a promise to increase the security of the social media by controlling updates and photos shared by users.

“I’m changing the goal I give our product teams from focusing on helping you find relevant content to helping you have more meaningful social interactions,” said Mark Zuckerberg in his statement.

The intentions of Facebook co-founder are good. We do hope that those changes will influence the view on the news feed and content we’re consuming every day.

Before that Facebook was testing two separate feed that would probably look like that:
