John Miller

John Miller was a famous magician known under the name of Balabrega. On that day, he performed the magic trick “The Moth and the Flame” with flammable gas bags for the explosion.

Unexpectedly, one of the bags blew up – Miller died on the stage with his fellow assistant because of the injuries in 1900.

Charles Rowan

Charles Rowan, or Karr the Mysterious, was famous for his skill to escape from straitjackets. In 1930, Rowan decided to be more creative and made the car to speed towards him while he was getting out the straitjacket.

Unfortunately, Karr hadn’t managed to perform his trick and was struck by the vehicle. He died in a few moments after the .

The Black Wizard

The Black Wizard died in a few days after he attempted to perform the bullet catch trick in 1922. To do this trick carefully, you should be sure that the bullet isn’t real.

Also, you should trust the person who’ll be “shooting” you. The Black Wizard had chosen his wife to perform the trick. She replaced the fake bullet with the real one and shot her husband.

Chung Ling Soo

American performer William Ellsworth Robinson was famous under the name of  Chung Ling Soo, a man who doesn’t know English.

But there was one little when everybody heard him speaking English: after the unsuccessful bullet catch trick, he shouted, ‘Oh my God! Something happened, lower the curtain!”

He died because of the bullet right on the stage.

Joseph W. Burrus

To become even cooler than Houdini, Joseph W. Burrus buried himself under 3 feet of dirt and 6,000 pounds of concrete.

However, Burrus didn’t take into account the weight limit of the plastic coffin. It was crushed under the pressure, and Burrus died under the ground.
