1. Capillarity Exercise (Mokan Undo)

Katsuzo Nishi was a very weak kid, and doctors stated he would die before his early 20s. That’s why he was sent to a Buddhist monastery, where he started being interested in medical technics.

Bright Side recommends this exercise to help to normalize the state of capillaries in the body.

  • Lie on a hard floor;
  • Put something like a pillow under your head, and start to raise your arms and legs;
  • Stretch them;
  • Shake your arms and legs for 1-3 min;
  • Do it twice a day.

 2. Dorsoventral (Hifuku Undo)

Repeat exercise no less than 10 times each.

  • Move the shoulders up and down;
  • Bend the head rightward and then leftward;
  • Bend the head forward and backward.
  • Turn the head right backward and left backward;
  • Stretch out both arms and turn the head right and left.
  • Raise up both arms turn the head right once and left.
  • Draw as far backward as possible;

3. Solid pillow (Heisho) and a hard back (Kochin)

You should control your posture even at night, lying flat and using a solid pillow. Katsuzo states that this technic helps digestive organs and the circulatory system to work properly.

When using the solid pillow you should lie flat and place the neck on it.

4. Goldfish Exercise (Kingyo Undo)

  • Lie straight on the back and stretch your body;
  • Bend your toes back toward your face and place your hands under the neck;
  • Move the whole body just like a goldfish does it;
  • Move your feet left and right and your head as well;
  • Do it for two minutes twice a day.

5. Palm and sole joining exercise (Gassyo-Gasseki)

  • Lie flat on the back on a hard surface and hold arms over the breast;
  • Press hands for a couple of times and move the hands forward and backward;
  • Bend legs and stretch them;
  • Joining soles, move the legs forward and backward for a short distance;
  • Stay in this position for 10 minutes.
  • Rest for a few minutes;
