New extremely dangerous challenge took over Internet and made kids risk their lives and end up in hospital.

What the heck is ‘Fire challenge’?

The latest internet viral ‘Fire Challenge’ is risking the lives of Internet users who’re ending up in hospital with serious burns after setting themselves on fire in an attempt to become ‘social media stars’.

Thus, such crazy stunt gone wrong landed a 12-year-old girl from Detroit in the hospital in August.

Actually the fire challenge is not something news – it dates back to at least 2014 and Nexter.org has already wrote about it.

Although the trend has now hit youngsters in the UK it originally came from the US.

Typically challenge requires to pour small amounts of rubbing alcohol onto your bodies, light it on fire and film the whole ordeal.

The idea is to quickly extinguish the flames with water — but on  Timiyah Landers landed in intensive care after she lost control of the blaze and became engulfed in flames, the Washington Post reports.

Landers “looked like a fireball,” her mother, Brandi Owens, told the Post. “She was yelling, ‘Help me.’”

Earlier Last month, for example, a 12-year-old boy from South Carolina had to be transported to a Georgia hospital by helicopter after attempting the challenge.

Life-threating game

Actually, it’s not the only cases that ended that bad – many of the youngster got serious burns – some have even ended up needing surgery and on life-support.

Now, three months after a viral “fire challenge” left 12-year-old Timiyah Landers in need of major surgeries, health officials in the United Kingdom have issued a public warning after the social media challenge once again picked up steam.

“We have definitely seen an increase in the number of teenagers who have suffered quite serious burns because of this,” Ana Biney, a staff nurse at Morriston Hospital Welsh Centre for Burns and Plastic Surgery in Wales, said in a statement released by the Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board.
