If your kidneys are well functioning they convert Vitamin D, which produces Erythropoietin (EPO) hormone. This hormone is very important for the production of red blood cells, which carry oxygen. If your kidneys are not healthy, they produce less EPO, hence it causes headaches and fatigue.  

If you notice that you have enough sleep and rest but still feel tired, sleepy and weak all the time, you might have anemia. People with Chronic Kidney Disease are more likely to suffer from anemia. Please, contact your doctor as soon as possible.

  1. The frequency of urination. If you feel like your need to urinate increased especially during the night it might be a sign of problems with kidneys.
  2. Foam. This is a symptom of extra protein that you don’t need.
  3. Blood. Seeing blood in places it is not supposed to be is never a good sign. If you notice blood in your urine, it means that the filter, through which blood and waste are separated, is damaged.

If you feel pain somewhere deep in your back and mostly below the rib cage, or even in the groin or hip area, it might mean your kidneys do not work properly. It can be caused by cysts, large fluid-filled sacs, and lead to polycystic kidney disease.

Troubles with sleeping

As we already know, kidneys clean our blood from waste and when they are damaged they can’t do their job properly. Hence, toxins build up and that makes it hard to sleep well. If you don’t get enough sleep, you increase your chances to suffer from kidney function decline.
