Royals go back to nature
Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis had a whale of a time at the Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show garden designed by Kate Middleton and award-winning landscape architects Andrée Davies and Adam White of Davies White Landscape Architects.
The exhibit called the “Back to Nature Garden” is described in the Instagram caption as “a woodland setting for families and communities to come together and connect with nature.”
The Duchess admitted that the way kids interacted with space took her by surprise.
‘The children played last night in a way I hadn’t imagined,’ she said. ‘They were throwing stones. I hadn’t actually thought that that was what they would be doing. They kicked their shoes off, and wanted to paddle in the stream… using it in a way that I hadn’t anticipated.’
The Duchess of Cambridge will unveil her woodland wilderness garden to the Queen later today – which aims to encourage children to spend more time outdoors.
In an interview with the BBC, Kate said that she designed the garden to inspire families to spend more time outdoors together.
An excited Prince Louis ran along a wooden path carrying a branch.
George, Charlotte and Louis contributed to their mother’s creation by collecting leaves, moss and twigs over the past months which were then incorporated into the surroundings of the campfire.
