A mass shooting happened during a Madden Tournament in Jacksonville on 26 of August, Florida, CNN reports. The suspect is David Katz, 24, who allegedly shot 3 of his rivals after losing the tournament.

Reaction

Witness Ryen Aleman stated, “As I was going in the restroom, I stayed in there, and I just heard — there was just so many gunshots, at least 20 of them at the most,” said Aleman, who traveled from Texas to play in the tournament. I’m still shocked, I can hardly talk.”

Jason Lake, CompLexity Gaming founder and CEO, says there was one of his players injured during the shooting, “We’re obviously shocked and saddened by this afternoon’s events. Our player, Drini, was hit in the thumb but is going to be fine. He managed to escape and run down the street to a nearby gym. He’s currently cooperating with the authorities and we will be flying him out of Jacksonville as soon as we are given the green light from the officials on the ground.”

Also, Electronic Arts, the gaming developer, commented on the situation, tweeting, “This is a horrible situation, and our deepest sympathies go out to all involved.”

Katz was said that he was “not here to make friends.” The previous game announcer added: “He’s all business, he’s focused, and to even get him to open up to talk to you about anything – it’s like pulling teeth, man.”

One gamer said: “He had shades on, he didn’t speak to anybody. Even after we played…I went to shake his hand and just tell him good game and he just looked at me. He didn’t say anything.”

David Katz lost this tournament and opened a gunfire killing 3 of other players. Some of the injured state they were aimed with laser just like on the photo below.

David Katz was described as a “weird” guy who wore the same clothes two days in a row during the Madden Tournament.

He took his own life after killing 3 of his rivals.

Taylor ‘SpotMePlzzz’ Robertson, 27, of Ballard, West Virginia was killed.

Drini Gjoka stated in the tweet that the bullet hit his thumb.

His representative, Jason Lake, said: “We’re obviously shocked and saddened by this afternoon’s events. Our player, Drini, was hit in the thumb but is going to be fine. He managed to escape and run down the street to a nearby gym.”

Larry Legend, one of the , was shot three times. His mother says, “I have to get to him. I am four hours away from him and I have to get to my son. He was shot three times, once on the nipple, once on his hand and somewhere else.”

The police are currently investigating the place of shooting.
