Google released two new accessibility features for Android 9 Pie and Pixel phones.
#1 – is a live-transcription feature that turns speech into text and shows it on the display.
#2 – is a customizable sound amplifier that allows deaf or hard of hearing to use their phones to help them understand others in everyday life.

It is now available in 70 languages and is a major breakthrough in the development of devices for deaf people.
First and only Starbucks signing store in US
The first ever Starbucks coffee shop for the deaf and hard-of-hearing people appeared in Washington. It is noteworthy that all workers at the Starbucks point are fluent in American Sign Language (“ASL”). It is reported that the first guests of the coffee shop will be able to order their favorite drink and chat with the barista starting from this week!
Moreover, among the staff, there are both native speakers and sign language interpreters.

Translating of signing
This new technology allows you o turn sign language into voice or text, and voice into text or sign language.
What’s that? It’s startup called KinTrans from Dallas that is equipped with 3D camera and microphone that translate the signing.
The program can identify thousands of signed 98 % accurately.
Sign language humanoid
Belgium’s University of Antwerp sign language humanoid is here to help deaf and people with normal hearing abilities to communicate.
It’s a 3D-printed robotic hand that is able to translate words into sign language gestures.
Smart glove
$100 smart glove able to translate American Sign Language (ASL) into the text which is shown on the phone screen.
The one who wears the glove should just to sign out letters in the ASL alphabet, and the glove will identify it.
