  • Houston Astros were founded in 1962 and have appeared in World Series only 2 times, while the Los Angeles Dodgers have taken part in the championship 19 times.
  • New York Yankees are on the first place with 40 series appearances, then San Francisco Giants – with 20 championships.
  • In 2005 Houston Astros appeared in World Series for the first time, but they lost to Chicago White Sox 1-0 in Game 4.

  • This year the Astros managed to beat Dodgers and win World Series for the first time in 56 years, winning 4 games to 3, earning its first World Series title.
  • This is the first Game 7 occurred and played at Dodger Stadium in World Series. Maybe it was the magic number 7 to help to the championship? Moreover, the Astros has never come out in their orange jerseys in World Series, but this time the orange color has brought them luck.
  • The Game 7 was intense and determined the winner of the championship, however, the Game 3 and Game 5 were the craziest ones as the Astros had beaten Dodgers 7-6 in the 11th inning and 13-12 in the 10th inning accordingly.

  • Game 7 attendance 54,125 which is equal to Game 6, but less than a number of people visiting Game 1 and 2 (almost 54,254).
  • Total attendance is 346,700 and average attendance is 49,530, which is more than the last year’s attendance for almost 100,000.
  • The price of the tickets was regular – approximately $1000 per ticket, however, StubHub reported that after Game 6 the prices rose up to almost $1,700-1,790.
  • Game 7 tickets were sold faster than ever, but the price was short of the previous time’s Game 7 tickets when tickets were sold for almost $2,600 and more.

Winning and losing share

  • In World Series 2016 winning player’s share was $369,000 and losing share – $262,000.
  • This year numbers are still unknown, but, as previously mentioned, Game 7 is considered to be one of the most expensive in baseball history. Thus, the winning share should not be smaller than the last year.
