His first Valentine’s Day as husband and wife of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and will meet apart.

It happened because of the grandson of Queen Elizabeth II. The Kensington Palace made an official statement that Prince Harry is on a visit to Norway.

“The Duke of Sussex, Captain General @RoyalMarines, will visit Exercise Clockwork to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the operation in Bardufoss, Norway on Thursday 14th February.

“Clockwork is the traditional name of the annual winter exercise, based in one of the world’s most demanding environments 200 miles inside the Arctic Circle, which has trained over 16,000 @RoyalMarines and @RoyalNavy sailors and airmen since 1969.

“The Duke of Sussex will meet military personnel living and training on the base, view some of the specialist outdoor severe weather equipment and training that is conducted at Clockwork and talk with expert aircrews and engineers.”

So, Prince Harry will meet with Royal Marines, while his wife remains in the UK.

Though Prince will be absent during the day, he still has some time for a romantic dinner with Markle.

The same happens quite often for William and Kate. In 2017, Kate Middleton wasn’t able to spend the 14th of February with her husband as she was dealing with royal duties by spending the day meeting air cadets at a Cambridgeshire RAF base.

‘Her Royal Highness will join the cadets as they view a Tutor aircraft, and participate in a personal development training session,’ a Palace statement said.

In 2014, Kate also was apart from Prince William as she spent a day opening a newly refurbished art room at Northolt High School in London.

There were times when brothers Prince William and Prince Harry helped out the flood effort in Berkshire as they joined troops and spent the day shifting sandbags.

The Queen and Prince Philip

In 2012, the Queen and Prince Philip spent the afternoon and evening celebrating the anniversary of the work of Charles Dickens.

The Royal couple visited reception and a show at the Guildhall in London.
