House of Cards Unexpected End (Video)

Netflix said the sixth season will end the series. And no, it’s not due to Spacey’s allegations.

The next season of political drama House of Cards is going to be the last. One of the most popular Netflix series starring Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright will air in 2018 and has 13 episodes.

In case you’ve missed it

This news was announced after the allegations from Star Trek: Discovery actor Anthony Rapp who declared Kevin made a sexual harassment of him in 1986, when he was a fourteen-year-old teenager.

After the allegations, Spacey responded on Twitter that he doesn’t remember this incident and apologized for deeply inappropriate drunken behavior”. Later, Spacey also admitted he had relations with women and men, but now he prefers now “to live as a gay man”.

However the International TV Academy already claimed it’ll not honor Kevin Spacey with the 2017 International Emmy Founders Award because of the story with a teenager.

Netflix: It was planned

At that time Netflix insists the decision of ending the series is not related to the claims against the actor. This sounds credible: according to The Hollywood Reporter, the company seems to make adjustments to its strategy. Recently, Netflix closed several costly projects, including the Sense8 and The Get Down.

Oscar, Golden Globe and Tony Award-winning actor Kevin Spacey will host THE 71st ANNUAL TONY® AWARDS, live from the historic Radio City Music Hall in New York City, Sunday, June 11 (8:00-11:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network. Should we wait for the Spin-off

House of Cards series started in 2013. It’s a story of Frank and Claire Underwood (Spacey and Wright) whose aim is to reach the Oval Office with help of manipulations and tricky strategies.

The show has been nominated for 33 Emmy awards and eight Golden Globe awards. Moreover, Spacey and Wright won best actor and actress Golden Globes for their performances.

It was announced earlier that Media Rights Capital studio intends to make a House of cards spin-off. Perhaps, it’s going to be a story of the President Frank Underwood’s assistant – Doug Stamper played by Michael Kelly. Netflix and Media Rights Capital has declined to comment this fact.
