Gunman in School: 4 Dead After California Shooting Rampage (Video)

The gunman killed 4 people in California shooting spree. The events took place in Tehama country at 8:00 a.m. local time.

What happened? 

According to Tehama sheriff, multiple people were shot at several locations in a Northern California country.

The shooting rampage began at a private home, Rancho Tehama (120 miles from Sacramento), and then continued on the yard of an elementary school.

Victims 

As a result of the shootout, at least four people were killed and several others were injured by the glass (shooter tried to break through the windows, but haven’t succeeded), including a six-year-old student.

No children were among killed. Wounded kids were taken care by the teachers, and, eventually, were transferred to hospital and now in a stable state.

Teachers saved children

The staff of school reacted quickly when they heard gunfire, locked all the doors and made students stay quiet and hide underneath desks and tables.

Fortunately, the gunman was unable to break into school, otherwise, there would much more dead and wounded children.

The bloodshed began about 8 a.m., just before the classes. The shooter was engaged by officers in a shootout and was killed by policemen. He used a semi-automatic rifle and two handguns.

Crime scene  

Phil Johnston, Assistant Sheriff of Tehama, reports that the seven places where the shooting took place, including Rancho Tehama Elementary School. “The suspect was randomly picking targets,” – sheriff said.

At least 10 people are injured, including 2 children – one shot and another one hit by a truck.

Students and staff from the school were evacuated. One of the witnesses reported that she heard 90-100 shots during the shootout.

This latest burst of gunfire was labeled as a series of the deadliest mass shootings in the modern history of US.

For instance, we all remember a mass shooting at the Baptist church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, on November 5, when at least 26 people were killed and 20 were injured. Time to talk about gun control?
