Google has revealed its search trends for 2018. People were excited to learn about celebrities, money news, movies, significant event. Nexter.org gathered top 10 Google Search Trends 2018.

#6 Meghan Markle

This year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were married in a truly lovely royal wedding at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle. Of course, it had lots of memorable moments including quests and their funny faces, lip speeches and much more.

After Kate Middleton and Prince William have had their third baby – Prince Louis on April 23, 2018, and Pippa Middleton is pregnant, there’s is one more royal baby announced.

Kensington Palace released a statement on October 12 announcing that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are expecting a child in the spring.

#4 Stan Lee

Stan Lee was a comic book writer that took a position of the editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics and a  chairman. He is the creator of the most famous heroes of the Marvel universe, including Spider-Man, Hulk, X-Men, Iron Man, Thor, The Avengers, and the Fantastic Four. He also played in episodic roles in films based on Marvel comics: “X-Men”, “Spiderman”, “Iron Man”, “Daredevil”, “Hulk” and others.

In recent years, the author of comics suffered from several diseases – he had pneumonia and vision problems. In early 2016, Stan Lee complained that he had lost the ability to read and write.

Unfortunately, this year, Stan Lee has died at the age of 95. Fans and celebrities shared memories and paid tribute to Lee’s legendary creations. 

#3 Mac Miller

Mac Miller was an American rapper, singer and record producer. Malcolm McCormick, also known as Mac Miller, was found dead on September 7 at his home.

“Authorities were called and Miller was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:51 a.m. At this time, an autopsy is pending and a cause of death has not been determined.”

Now, finally, the L.A. County Coroner’s Office presented the findings of their toxicology report and said Miller’s death was caused by an accidental overdose of fentanyl, cocaine, and alcohol, according to reports from TMZ.

The report gave his cause of death as “mixed drug toxicity” and confirmed that his death was accidental.

“Malcolm McCormick, known and adored by fans as Mac Miller, has tragically passed away at the age of 26,” his family said in a statement to Rolling Stone. “He was a bright light in this world for his family, friends, and fans. Thank you for your prayers. Please respect our privacy. There are no further details as to the cause of his death at this time.”

The Swedish DJ Avicii, Tim Bergling, was found dead in Muscat, Oman on Friday, April 20, 2018. His family has ‘confirmed’ he took his own life. He died when he was just 28 years old.

The family stated, ‘When he stopped touring, he wanted to find a balance in life to be happy and be able to do what he loved most – music. He really struggled with thoughts about Meaning, Life, Happiness. He could not go on any longer.’

#4 Midterm elections results

The congressional elections were held on Tuesday, 6, November. Dozens of elections for governorships, as well as local mayoral and state legislative chamber elections, were also held on the same date.

Midterm elections occur halfway between presidential elections, which occur every four years.

All 435 members of the House of Representatives are up for election every two years, with one-third of the Senate up for election. Members of the Senate serve staggered six-year terms.

Fifty-one seats were needed for control of Senate and 218 were needed for the House. 2018 midterm elections brought a series of history-making votes that became the milestones for LGBT-community and women.

#3 The Mega Millions jackpot

In 2018, on October 24 a single ticket holder in South Carolina won the $1.537 billion Mega Millions jackpot, nearly breaking the all-time record jackpot for any lottery — the $1.586 billion jackpot for a 2016 Powerball draw.

The Robinsons’ winning ticket was one of four they bought at a grocery store, they tell NBC’s TODAY show. They opted to take the lump sum. “We’re not guaranteed tomorrow,” says John.

In Florida, Smith and Kaltschmidt also picked the lump sum. At the time they planned to get massages, upgrade their truck and retire with the newfound wealth, according to NBC.

The Acostas remained anonymous for months after winning, but released a statement saying they were thankful for the “rare gift that has been placed in our care.”

Hurricane Florence has arrived in North Carolina, bringing heavy rains (a total of 40 inches of rain) and massive floods. Also, the storm has brought wind speeds of 90 mph;

Thousands of people hide in shelters. Millions of homes are warned about the life-threatening situation. At least 13 people died in the heavy flooding.

The 2018 FIFA is the key sports event of the Summer so Nexter.org reported all the hottest moments of the World Cup which is held in Russian Federation. The event ended with France beating Croatia 4-2.

The next World Cup will be held in four years in Qatar. It is a small, distinctive country in the east of the Arabian Peninsula. Due to the extremely hot weather in the Middle East, the 2022 World Cup will not be played in the summer months.

It will be the first time the tournament has been held in an Arab or Muslim country.
