What the movie is about?
In the upcoming film, members of the crypto-zoological agency, Monarch, are forced to face off a terrifying range of god-sized monsters including Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan and the three-headed King Ghidorah.
Cryptozoology refers to the study of animals whose existence is disputed or unsubstantiated – in case you were wondering. In this case, these mythical creatures all turn out to be completely true, and all vying for world supremacy.

Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown, The Shape of Water’s Sally Hawkins, Vera Farmiga, Kyle Chandler and Charles Dance will all appear in the upcoming action flick.
Farmiga plays Dr. Emma Russell in Godzilla 2, a Monarch scientist kidnapped by an even-more-mysterious organization, while Brown and Chandler play her daughter Madison and husband Mark respectively.
Critics’ reactions
The first reactions to ‘Godzilla: King of Monsters’ are in – and they’re very positive, with many critics praising the “epic scale” of the sequel and suggesting its a marked improvement on its 2014 predecessor.
One of the largest-running franchises ever
Godzilla: King of the Monsters is the third Hollywood-produced Godzilla film after the 2014 and 1998 films. However, there have been 35 films produced by Japanese production company Toho, making it one of the largest-running franchises ever, having been in production since 1954.
