‘First Man’ premiere
The Venice Film Festival, the oldest film festival in the world, just celebrated its 75th opening with the world premiere of Damien Chazelle’s First Man, starring Ryan Gosling and Claire Foy.
The Neil Armstrong biopic stars Ryan Gosling as Armstrong, House of Cards’ Corey Stoll as Buzz Aldrin, and The Crown’s Claire Foy as Armstrong’s first wife, Janet Shearon. Based on early reviews, the star-studded cast is just one of the film’s many assets.
First Man will receive a U.S. wide release on October 12.
Emmy Rossum leaves ‘Shameless’

Emmy Rossum is saying goodbye to Shameless. Rossum, who has played Fiona Gallagher on the Showtime comedy since it began, announced her exit in a lengthy Facebook post.
“This business is always an adventure, full of travel and opportunities to tell stories. Usually as an actor, every few months, you travel to a new place, start a new project, build a new character, learn new rhythms, new inside jokes with your crew, make new friends,” Rossum wrote.
The Rock to play ‘Dream’ role of Hawaiian King Kamehameha
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has been brought on board for his ‘dream’ role of Hawaiian monarch Kamehameha in forthcoming flick The King.
Deadline reports that Warner Bros and New Line Cinema have won an auction for the film, which is set to be directed by Robert Zemeckis and is based on a spec written by Braveheart screenwriter Randall Wallace.
Damon Herriman to portray Charles Manson

The main character of the long-awaited movie, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”, from the director of a series of well-known pictures was announced. Actor Damon Herriman will play a cult leader in new Quentin Tarantino movie.
Charles Manson was the leader of Manson Family – a vicious cult – has left a trace of murders and criminal actions and become an inspiration to a number of books, music bands, and movies.
Tarantino’s movie tells a story of pregnant Sharon Tate who was married to director Roman Polanski and was murdered by members of the Manson family in her home.
‘True Detective’ season 3 trailer
HBO debuted the first teaser trailer for season 3 of its peculiar drama series, True Detective.
The detective, in this case, will be Academy Award winner, Mahershala Ali. According to HBO’s official spiel, the new season will follow his character, Wayne Hays, through the Ozarks in Arkansas as he investigates a “macabre crime” involving two missing children.

Alec Baldwin joins and leaves Joaquin Phoenix’s ‘Joker’ film
On Monday, Aug.27 Warner Bros. announced it has hired Alec Baldwin to appear opposite Joaquin Phoenix in its “Joker” origin film, playing the role of Thomas Wayne, the father of Batman, a.k.a. Bruce Wayne.

However, on Thursday Alec Baldwin confirmed his exit from the Joker movie – “I’m no longer doing that movie,” he told USA Today, citing scheduling issues.
Robert De Niro, “Deadpool 2” breakout star Zazie Beetz and “GLOW” actor Marc Maron have already been cast in the gritty standalone story due out Oct. 4, 2019.
Nickelodeon’s new streaming service

Nickelodeon has launched a new streaming service, and it’s filled with some of their most iconic shows from the 1990s.
Although not available in Europe just yet, the animations giants have introduced Nicksplat, a new service from streaming site VRV.
For only $6 a month, users are able to take a massive nostalgia trip into the past – reliving classic episodes of shows including Kenan & Kel, The Amanda Show and Rocko’s Modern Life.

Mr. Robot’s fourth season will be its last. The series starring Rami Malek will end in 2019 with a 12-episode season.
