Fight Morgan Freeman? South Park Game 2017: Top References (Video)
When the night comes, it is time to choose your side and fight for or against your city! South Park: The Fractured but Whole is a parody on superheroes franchises and is full of references, allusions and easter eggs.

Let’s analyze every reference in details:
New Kid

The game provides the players with a wide range of choices on religion, gender, race, skin color, class, kryptonite and more.
Everyone in the game addresses the player – New Kid. However, his real name – Dovahkiin – is revealed by Big Bad Government Guy.

By naming the main character Dovahkiin, the creators allude to another quite popular game developed by Bethesda – Skyrim.
The Coon – Eric Cartman

One of the main abilities of the Coon – claws – makes him similar to Marvel Comics character – Wolverine. This attack applies terrible bleeding and leaves scratches. Also, the Coon wears a so-called ‘bandit mask’ which is one of the attributes of Wolverine in the comics series.

Cartman makes his voice sound like Batman’s. Some of the interactions allude to the old Warner Brothers cartoons featuring a little kitty and an enormous bulldog.
Mysterion – Kenny Mccormick

The name and the regenerating power are a reference to the television series Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons.
Mysterion’s hood and mask are allusions to Green Arrow, another vigilante from DC Comics.

Mosquito – Clyde Donovan

Clyde was bitten by a mosquito and became the superhuman named Mosquito. It is an obvious allusion to Spider-Man as he was also bitten by a radioactive insect.

However, Mosquito’s abilities are not similar to Spider-Man’s. He is in control of a horde of bugs just like another character from DC Comics – Bug-Eyed Bandit.
Doctor Timothy – Timmy Burch

Doctor Timothy is a Psychic: he is a mind reader, manipulator and is able to control the memory.

All Timothy’s abilities make him a reference to Professor X, the founder and leader of X-Men. Timmy as Xavier is a paraplegic and a wheelchair.
Fastpass – Jimmy Valmer

High speed and lighting logo printed on Jimmy’s clothes remind us about the superhero from DC Comics – Flash.
Jared “the Subway guy”

Jared Fogle became a Subway representative after he claimed he had lost a significant amount of weight eating burgers from Subway restaurant.
In 2015 Fogle was charged due to the accusation of sex with minors and child pornography. He makes his appearance in the middle of the game.
Cthulhu

Cthulhu makes his appearance in two episodes, season 14 of South Park TV-series and in the game.

Scenes featuring The Coon and Cthulhu are references to “My Neighbor Totoro” animated film.
Morgan Freeman

Morgan Freeman is the owner of Freeman’s Tacos and appears to be a secret boss.
It is suggested to fight him after the main story completion as he is the toughest boss in the game. Make sure you have enough skills and healing items before fighting Morgan Freeman.
Pewdiepie

It is clearly a brofist reference as Trey Parker and Matt Stone stated they used Pewdiepie’s LP to improve the previous game – South Park: The Stick of Truth – and shape the second part as well.
