Messi memes

The opening game of Group D at the FIFA World Cup 2018 was one of the most awaited matches as Iceland plays its first World Cup and Argentina has..well…Messi.

Disappointed by the results of the match that ended 1-1 draw, Twitter community posted tons of hilarious memes – see some of them:

Peru fan puts on 52lbs to get the ticket

The fan from Peru was concerned he would miss a chance to get to the match, that he gained an extra 52lbs to apply for the special seats provided by FIFA for fans suffering from obesity.

“There was a guy who was worried he wouldn’t get a ticket for a Peru match, so he said he would try to put on 24kg so that he could apply for one of the special [easy-access extra-width] seats that are much easier to get. You get a good view as well from those seats,” said Peru fan Guillermo Espinoza.

A 70-year-old fan made a month-long road trip from Germany to Moscow for the 2018 World Cup in a tractor. Hubert Wirth got to Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium Sunday to support match Germany – Mexico.

“I had no problem with the Russian roads. You can compare them with the German ones,” Wirth stated. “The police stopped me five times, but only to take pictures.” Wirth’s tractor was made in 1936 and has 85 horsepower.

The Moscow authorities handed this man a ticket for the 2018 World Cup match between Germany and Mexico.
